Groups:
A group is a general subject of discussion- for example “Financial Security” or “Housing”. So far, we have identified 12 groups. These can be found by clicking on the “Groups” tab.
Forum:
Within each group, there will be different sub-groups where more specific issues within that group will be discussed. For example, in the “Financial Security” group, we might find forums for the RDSP, legal planning (wills, trusts), insurance,… The moderator of the group is responsible for directing conversation to the appropriate group and forum and may even decide to create new ones if the volume of conversation warrants it.
Contributors:
A contributor is any individual who registers with the Family Talks website and joins a forum topic. As a contributor, you have access to view all convesations is all forums. In order to post a comment in a forum, you must first join that particualr discussion. You may join as many or as few forums as you wish. All your comments are anonynous as is your screen name.
Moderators:
The moderators role is to help discussions stay productive and within the guidelines. In most cases, each forum topic will be moderated by a different individual. They may possess relevant knowledge or expertise pertaining to the central theme of the topic. Moderators will check into the website topic as often as everyday but no longer than every 2 weeks. Moderators will mediate all comments and advise the administrators when comments are inappropriate or offensive.

Administrators:
Administrators manage the website as a whole. They handle all technical issues that may arise with the websiteThey screen the content to ensure all is respectful and reserve the right to remove unsuitable comments and accounts.
